Provincial Nomination Highlights: Recent Selections in British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, and Alberta

In recent updates from Canada’s provincial immigration programs, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, and Alberta have announced their latest selections through Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs), attracting skilled workers and international graduates seeking permanent residency opportunities.

British Columbia (B.C.)

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) conducted several draws this week across multiple streams. On June 25th, BCPNP issued invitations through five key streams: Skilled Worker, Skilled Worker: Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option, International Graduate, International Graduate EEBC option, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled. This round saw a total of 35 candidates invited, with varying minimum scores. For instance, the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams targeted professionals in high-demand occupations, requiring scores ranging from 80 for veterinary care to 106 for healthcare roles.

Additionally, another draw on the same day invited at least 29 candidates under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams, emphasizing B.C.’s ongoing need for skilled professionals across various sectors.

Manitoba

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held draws on June 21st and 25th, issuing Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to 413 candidates. On June 21st, MPNP invited 52 candidates under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, with a minimum score of 721. Concurrently, the program also invited 111 candidates through the International Education Stream, including 31 with valid Express Entry profiles.

Continuing its selection momentum, MPNP issued 250 LAAs on June 25th through the Occupation Specific Selection pathway of the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. Candidates in critical occupations such as registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and nurse aides were required to have a minimum score of 516, reflecting Manitoba’s strategic focus on healthcare and related fields.

Quebec

Quebec’s Ministry of Immigration, Francization, and Integration (MIFI) invited 1,470 candidates on June 17th to apply for permanent selection through its provincial immigration program. The selection criteria emphasized French proficiency, with candidates needing to demonstrate a level 7 proficiency on the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français. Alternatively, candidates could qualify with a minimum score of 585 points or a valid job offer outside the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal.

Quebec’s proactive approach to immigration underscores its commitment to welcoming skilled workers and professionals who can contribute to the province’s vibrant economy and cultural fabric.

Alberta

On June 18th, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) aligned its draw with the federal Express Entry system, issuing Notification of Interest (NOI) letters to 73 candidates. These candidates were selected through the Dedicated Healthcare Pathway with Alberta job offer stream, requiring a minimum score of 301. Alberta continues to prioritize healthcare professionals and other critical occupations essential to its economic growth and development.

These recent provincial nominations highlight Canada’s diverse and dynamic approach to immigration, tailored to meet regional labor market needs and demographic objectives. Each province’s PNP offers unique opportunities for skilled workers and international graduates to secure permanent residency, contributing to Canada’s continued growth and prosperity. As immigration policies evolve, staying informed about provincial selection updates remains crucial for aspiring immigrants seeking to build their futures in Canada.
